Quick visit to the garden

Moving right along.....

Things are going well in the tomato mahals........

I can't get over how gorgeous the flowers are on what I am now calling the "multi-pea". Yup, when they are young they are snow peas, when they are older they are sugar snaps, and then they are pea peas, and then they are dried peas for soup. The multi-pea, also known as a field pea, $1.20 / kg from the produce store.

And here are a few of my favorite things, all in one photo......my gorgeous bike, Queen Aprilia, my white nectarine tree (on the right), a compost pile, and the community garden in the back ground.

Queen Aprilia is on the move. She needs to end up over here:

Thats over 20 meters away. I can only mover her 1 meter at a time, otherwise everyone gets lost. And I can only move her after dark, when everyone is inside. So me and my secret service gal are going back down there soon, to do the second shift....

Dear Duckie, why did you let me forget just how funny and interesting you are. That's it, you're going on my blog roll, lest I forget it again.

I love your bike and it's fab basket and the Queen is amazing. Long may she reign.

Oh, and the field peas are gorgeous. I would use them as cut flowers too, and for green manure.

Ducks, on our next trip to Canberra when we have more time, can we come visit the community garden with you and meet Queenie? I had a beautiful old bike a bit similar to yours when I lived in the city...I miss that bike. Mountain riding is really a more extreme sport, though I do occasionally peddle to the shop on my old Peugeot collapsible that I got at the markets for $50! Happy gardening and loving for 2011! x

Aww Shucks.

They REALLY are multi-pea if they are flowers and mulch too....

And Jacqui I would be so happy and excited and excited and excited and happy and deliriously happy and excited if we could meet in person and have a cuppa and a hug and all that. And you can ride my Queenie bike (thats a good name, I is gunna keep it)

love duckie xxx

I am way too scared to open the door on my greenhouse, lest it blow away again!
