Spring

Hello internets. heeellloooooo....

Sbinawhile. Sbinawhile. Whats happening?

Well, look at my beautiful pressie from Jacqui and Marjorie.

Have you ever seen a cuter little bundle. How cute are those salt'n'peppa shakers? And that little Christmas Doily? I am in cute heaven. And borrage for courage - I was gonig to have to buy some more borrage seeds - how did she know?
Thank you Miss Life in the Dome.

And meet Bitie (you know, from The Simpsons, when Homer has possums in the cupboard and says to Bart "I call the big one Bitie"...._

Here is Bitie eating his banana at a safer distance. He looks so soft. I can hardly resist the urge to pat him, cuddle him and rub my face in his fur. But I know that all his ends are very pointy and sharp.

Now, this is VERY SPECIAL.....could it be? YES. Mr Bacon the Avocado the BRAVE is actually about to flower. One step closer to growing avocados in the ONC my friends.

And for a closer look......

This is the rather ragged but brave Mr Bacon who made it though his first torrid ONC winter. HOORAY for Mr Bacon.

And could this possibly be baby Apricots?
Why yes, I think they are.

And surely these must be baby Angel peaches?
Indeed!

And other news? Well, Queen Atalia has a new box. She is no longer humble. She is CRANKY. I have been stung twice. She has an ARMY of front line soldiers who are very well briefed. But really she is very busy. It is still a bit cold. Eric says when the temperature climbs another few degrees and the nectar starts to flow properly she will be happier. They are FRANTIC - trying to build new comb and feeding all the babies and search for nectar to feed themselves.
To date I have been stung on my cheek, head and neck. Perhaps I should start wearing my veil.

Happy SPRING everyone.

Hey there Duck Herder, I have just searched your blog posts back to March for some pics of adult Khaki Campbels but couldn't find any. We have 25 ten day olds and I'd love to have a look at some mature ones. Do you have any? And if so where can I find some photos of them. Have a great weekend. Kate

Happy Spring to you too. We are just a few days into fall, but here in CA we are still having hot weather.
Congrats on Mr. Bacon too.

Huzzah Mr Bacon! My mango isnt doing quite so well :( It got badly knocked around by the wind and has lost all its leaves and the colder weather probably isn't helping.

BTW, do you know anyone in the area that breeds Australorps? I want to get some soon but cant find anyone in town with them.

Hi folks! HI Kate - if you click on the "duck" lable on the side of my blog, all the posts with ducks in them should come up, and there are LOTS of photos of khaki campbells.

Hi Dianne - happy fall! its so weird this whole northern / southern hemisphere thing.

And hello there Miss Em - welcome back to the cold country! I think there is a fellow in Jindabyne that breeds Australorps.....Lucy Gordon from 5 mile (or is it 7 mile) would know. Sorry to hear about your mangled mango.

Thanks :) 5 mile? Is that a shop or cafe in town? I am still learning where everything is!

Bbbrrr hello from a very cold Luckyland...lol. Wouldn't know it was spring here, but I do thankfully have some white nectarine fruits developing on my tree.

Something about fruit growing on a tree and what I can make with it. I make a killer apricot jam.

Hi EM - No - its the little area just out of Cooma on the way to Berridale. Where the service stations are. I think there is a turn off on the right to Adaminaby (?) or Lake Eucumbene or something. Lucy is shnuggled in between the service stations on the right. Cheers
Duckie.

And hello there Lucky 1!!! It is certainly a little brisk today. But we are having showers so I am happy.
